Clinical Assistant - Gap Year

Our Gap Year Program is a unique 1 or 2-year immersive clinical experience designed for aspiring healthcare professionals seeking meaningful, hands-on patient care experience before medical school or other graduate training.

As our practice continues to grow, participants have the opportunity to rotate across a diverse range of specialties—including Gastroenterology, Allergy & Immunology, Primary Care, Urology, Clinical Research, and Immigration Medical Services—allowing for broad clinical exposure and a deeper understanding of multidisciplinary patient care. Our clinic is committed to serving underserved communities and giving gap year students the chance to make a meaningful impact while developing the skills and perspective essential for a future career in medicine.

Beyond clinical training, participants have the opportunity to engage in original research within the practice, and most leave the program having contributed to conference abstracts and/or peer-reviewed publications.

This program is intentionally designed to prepare students for the next step in their journey. Through close mentorship from physicians and staff, extensive patient interaction, and progressive responsibility, our clinical assistants leave exceptionally well prepared for medical school. In fact, our most recent cohort achieved a 100% medical school acceptance rate, with placements at top programs nationwide.
